The Marketing Coordinator I organizes and implements (under the supervision of the Pflaum Marketing Manager) marketing and promotional campaigns; circulation counts and schedules; maintains promotional materials inventory for Sales, Customer Service and Telemarketing; maintains databases; and prepares reports.

Basic Functions:

To increase revenue for the Pflaum / Bayard Publishing Group with strategic marketing plans.

  • Coordinates the scheduling and implementation of promotional activities including direct mail, print ads, electronic media, and conferences.· Reviews specification sheets, obtains and compares bids, and acts as liaison with vendors in such areas as writing purchase orders, sending art and mail files, delivering mailing instructions, reviewing proofs, and coding and confirming vendor invoices.
  • Sets up eblasts, provides proofreading, creates campaign codes and links, schedules deployment, informs sales, customer service and telemarketing of upcoming eblasts.
  • Reviews and approves all counts for invoicing and renewals.
  • Maintains inventory and orders printing of all billing and renewal forms, letters, buck slips, BREs, CREs, and outer envelopes for billing.
  • Maintains postal reports for invoicing and notifies accounting with proper GL codes.
  • Communicates on product and marketing campaigns to inside and outside sales, customer service and other departments.
  • Works with all mailing lists provided to clean, update and prepare for mailing.
  • Provides circulation, proofreading, reports and other administrative tasks.
  • Hours: Full time Monday through Friday.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years successful marketing, proofreading and editing experience. Excellent proficiency of Excel and Word. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Bayard is looking for candidates with strong detail orientation and prioritization skills.
