Praying for Those Affected by Hurricane Florence
Hurricane Florence was the third hurricane and the first major hurricane of the 2018 Atlantic hurricane season. Florence made landfall the morning of Friday, September 14, near Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina, as a Category 1 storm. Large swaths of the Carolinas have been in the storm’s path and have been severely affected. With a historic rainfall of 24 inches, the storm has been responsible for thirty-six fatalities. In addition, property damage to individuals and businesses as well as public structures is estimated to be well over ten billion dollars. The storm will lead to disruptions for months to come and continues to pose potentially life-threatening conditions.
